NEW MOON PRODUCTIONS THEATER COMPANY
BROADWAY BOUND: MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP
Experience the excitement and fun involved in creating musical theater. Participants will build their skills with an experienced musical theater teacher to explore and build skills singing, easy to learn movement/dance, and how to make strong acting choices when performing musical theater. This class is for students of all ability and experience levels. Students will work towards a small performance for a small invited audience at the end of the term!
When: Mondays, 4:00-5:00pm, April 8 – June 3, 2024
Cost: $175 for either class. $335 if you take both.

ACTING AND IMPROV ADVENTURES
Be part of your own improv & acting troupe! Learn to let go and act in the moment with your ensemble of improvisors & actors, with games and activities that develop essential performance skills. This class for improvisors & actors of all ability levels will focus on quick thinking, active listening, communication, collaboration, and play. Laughter and fun are guaranteed! Speech and Debate
Attention speech and debate families. Cleveland High School, the #1 speech and debate team in Oregon is coming to Hosford to work with your middle schoolers! Winter session will meet Tuesday's after school for 8 weeks, starting January 30th - March 19th.

D&D Club
The Dungeons and Dragons club will continue spring semister. A huge thanks to Ms. Eigo and Mr. Kennedy who have graciously provided the use of their classrooms after school and have volunteered to chaperone the club! The club will start on Wednesday, January 3rd. in Ms. Eigo’s classroom (Room 118). Please note you will need to bring your own supplies. Students will arrange in their own groups with their own Dungeon Master. If interested, please register so we can get an idea of interest and attendance.
When: Wednesdays after school until 4:45pm

Coding With Kids
PYTHON: CREATE STORIES AND ANIMATION
This course teaches coding and game development while immersing students in the magical world of storytelling. They will learn essential coding concepts like functions, conditionals, and lists, all while enhancing their storytelling skills by crafting their own storylines. Through coding, they will bring stories to life with scenes, animations, dialogues, and exciting adventure elements. Grades 6-8
When: Thursdays 3:55 PM-4:55 PM, April 11 - May 30

Strategy Games Club
Chess club as been expanded to Strategy Games Club!
Meet and play strategy tabletop games Including:
Chess! - the classic strategy game
Board Games Stratego, Splendor, Tsuro, Catan etc - anything which teaches or uses strategy to win.
Card Games: Pokemon, Magic, etc.
(2-6 player games that can finish within an hour, not computer based)
Grades: 6-8
When: Wednesdays after school from 4:00 - 5:00 pm

Ultimate Frisbee
Join the Hosford Attack Waffles (7th and 8th grade) Ultimate Frisbee Team!
When: Tuesdays 4:00 - 5:30 (Games Sundays)
Where: Hosford Field

Games will be Sunday at Lents Park throughout the season (April 14 - June 9)

Sign Language
Come learn the basic signs of American Sign Language: we will focus on the alphabet, numbers, colors, feelings, animals and verbs.
You will learn to create sentences and have conversations with your friends!
Who knows, you may even bump into a deaf person one day and you'll be able to introduce yourself and maybe have a brief conversation.
When: Wednesdays after school, 4:00-4:45 Starting April 17 - June 5 (8 weeks)

Scholarships / Financial Assistance
The HEAT program seeks to make these activities accessible to all Hosford students. Since some classes do require a payment, the PTSA can provides scholarships to offset some or all of the cost. Please contact a school counselor, or email ptsahosford@gmail.com for more information.
About the H.E.A.T. Program
H.E.A.T. (Hosford Engaged and Active Teens) is a partnership of the Hosford Middle School and the PTSA. The H.E.A.T. program seeks to build students' social/emotional, physical, intellectual and creative competencies.
Classes are provided through a combination of activity providers and volunteer instruction. If you, or someone you know, has a skill, talent or incredible knowledge to share plus an enthusiasm for working with and teaching middle school kids, let us know!
